The best household tip I ever received was from my sister-in-law, Teri. To cut your laundry duties in half, simply buy everyone in the family their own laundry basket to keep in their room. (We bought four from the dollar store.) When each person’s basket is filled to the brim with dirty laundry, sort whites and darks and wash each load one at a time making sure to wash bed sheets with the whites to ensure a full load. After the load is dry, place the clothes back in the owner’s basket for folding and putting away. “Sorting” is virtually eliminated, and the children have each learned to take responsibility for their own basket! I’ve used this system for 15 years and would never go back to “corporate washing” again!
What a great idea from Christa Sarazen of Bohemia, NY.
