Lessons from the dinner table

Check out this learning opportunity Linda Anderson of Clinton Township, MI, used with her kids.

“When our children were little, we always used vinyl placemats that had math problems on them, so while they were eating, they were also learning adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. And when we went out to restaurants, we would use sugar packets to do math problems, i.e. laying them out on the table in rows to teach multiplication, while waiting for the food to arrive. Our efforts paid off – one of our children is now a rocket scientist at NASA!”
