    As a new mom, I always hated taking my young son in for his immunizations. I didn’t want to lie about the shot not hurting but didn’t want him to get stressed out about it either.  The day before his appointment I would let him pick out a little toy or treat.   He got the treat as soon as we got back to the car after his appointment. Instead of focusing on the needle or the pain, he thought about his treat.
