I actually found a ‘recipe’ for making scented pine cones with the note about baking them. So I used that part of it. Possibly google and see if there is info for drying out limbs??? oh jeeeeeeze. I’m such a heavy slpeeer, my husband can do whatever he wants and I sleep right through it all; and it gets worse I am the bad one as far as sleeping goes (at least i think so, considering the fact that I am out cold before he even starts to fall asleep so I dont really know how he is sleeping.) but I am ridiculous. I sit up and talk to him in the middle of the night, eyes wide open; I sleep walk, I yell ridiculous sh** like WHY DID YOU LET THE WATER DRIP IN MY BOX? and god knows what else, and here’s the one I STILL dont believe he swears i get up and eat, drink, pee, etc in my sleep the best part is when I go to bed in the bedroom and wake up in the recliner in the living room. Ah, joy. hehe.

This is an excellent way to bring bedbugs back to your own home! This is exactly what happened to me a few years ago, altho the bugs didn’t get into our house b/c I am aware of how common they are now. I brought my pillow into the house, took off the pillowcase and shook it out over the kitchen sink and a bedbug dropped out. We had stayed at a nice midrange hotel in Orlando, FL.
If you take your own pillow, you should keep it and the linens out of the house until you can wash the linens (hot water), and either put the pillow in the freezer for a couple weeks or in a black garbage bag in a hot car for a few days (temp should get to above 130). If you use a tightly zipped pillow cover under your pillow case you PROBABLY don’t need to go thru freezing or cooking.
I still travel with my own pillow, but I am very careful about it!
Never take your pillow to a hotel. There is a epidemic of bedbugs, which you will take home with you, along with your pillow.

I did that pillow thing for years; We quit travelling several years ago. Rooms not clean, bed bug problems all over the country. We traveled a lot over the years, but we quit for good. Just thankful we did travel when times were better and gas was cheap.
