Reader Gene Greenwood of San Jose has the right idea when it comes to green onions. Instead of watching them wither to curled brown strands in the crisper, he suggests the following trick to keep yours crispy and fresh from here on out.
He puts the onions in a plastic produce bag with a little water in the bottom — you can use a rubber band to keep it from leaking. After using the green tops of the onions, he plants the bulb ends in a planter and enjoys the fresh green shoots when they harvest.

You know all of those return address labels that organizations send you? I use them to put on all of my halloween candy. That way the parents of the children that come to our house know where that piece of candy comes from.
This is what I have been looking for! Thanks!
